Sexual Harassment suit against CSIRO about to commence

Posted on October 5, 2018. Filed under: Uncategorized |

The trial in the lawsuit of Katherine Morton against the CSIRO for Sexual Harassment commences in the Federal Court of Australia in Brisbane on Monday 8th of October.

We previously provided a link to an article published in the courier mail here: (https://victimsofcsiro.com/2018/03/11/courier-mail-article-scientist-slaps-csiro-with-harassment-lawsuit/)

We would like to wish Katherine all the best and fervently hope that justice prevails.  Given the recent of high profile mistreatment of those brave enough to go public on matters of sexual misconduct we hope that Katherine does not face the same mistreatment and slurs as many of those before her.

Then again, the experiences of many of our members in legal dealings with the CSIRO have been far from model litigant behaviour!

If you would like to leave Katherine a message of encouragement please place a comment below.

Dear Katherine

I wish you all the best of luck with your court case. I worked for CSIRO for 29 years and over that time it went from a place of camaraderie and academic collegiality to one of infighting, power plays and total disregard for the welfare of staff. The executive is to blame for much of this culture shift, despite their pretence to care. Having now worked in industry and other academic institutions it is clear how dysfunctional CSIRO really was.

I think you will find that many staff at CSIRO are also suffering and will be supporting you (in silence of course because you know what happens when you speak up).

I hope the case works out well for you and that finally the organisation is forced to recognise the harm that was done to you.
